Summer Theme

So this week saw the start of our Splat summer term!  Ironically it seems the weather is turning- however that didn't deter us from having lots of messy fun as you can see from below!

I thought it would be a good opportunity to get messy making and decorating ice cream cones! The coldness of the ice-cream and the soft creamy texture make it an ideal sensory item for the toolbox!

Surprisingly (or maybe I'm naïve) there was a lot less playing and a lot more eating than I had expected lol!

This little one loved sooking on the cone, must have been really nice for his gums!

Evan brought Grandma to play this week and here they both are practicing their fine motor skills!

We had some awesome painting going on; a little bit of body art here as you can see!

I'd seen somewhere on Pinterest this week about writing secret numbers and letters on white paper with white crayon and that it would 'magically' show through when painted over; but alas it did not seem to work for me!  But still the artwork is beautiful!

Evie in her favourite place! Daddy was helpful on the side and the pair of them were writing letters in the sand!

A pair of little 'sand dune' monsters!

Everyone did so well designing their lollypops! We used different size circles cut out of sugar paper, glitter glue to make the swirls, sticks & paper straws!

Oh and of course one of my favourite moments (and must be said the tiddlers too) is always the bubbles!

Next weeks theme is a treat for the boys and involves diggers, mud, insects and lots more!
